The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) announced that they will continue to provide free COVID-19 home test kits to residents at least through the end of 2022, despite the end of federal financial support for testing programs. The rapid antigen tests take 15 minutes to complete, offering users a convenient way to check whether they are infected with COVID-19 without needing to access the healthcare system, especially during the peak season for upper respiratory infections.

My COVID-19 at-home test kits have expired. What do I do?
One of my patients asked me this very question today! As it turns out, many COVID-19 rapid antigen test kits' expiration dates have been extended by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) this summer.
